Kids & Teens

Cancer affects a family in many ways. Every family member’s experience is unique and different, often making it hard to know how to provide support to one another. Feelings of anger, sadness, helplessness, and fear make life unpredictable for everyone, but especially for children. Many parents try to protect their children by not sharing information about the situation. But even if they are not told specifics, children of all ages can feel the impact of an illness. If you need help speaking to your child(ren) about cancer, we offer a great resource to help guide you through those conversations and navigate the feelings that may arise. Click here to download the PDF, Frankly Speaking About Cancer, What Do I Tell the Kids.

We have two programs, Kids Community and Teens Connect, designed especially for children to help them navigate their feelings and the change around them. For more information, please contact Norma Gonzalez, Outreach and Kids Community Manager, at Norma@CSCSouthBay.org or 310-376-3550, Ext. 116.
